On November 8, 2016, Donald Trump was unexpectantly elected president of the United States. The result led to protests across the country, which were joined by many people who had never previously participated in a protest and felt the shock result in different, individual ways. Rather than carrying printed placards with slogans, many people used a sharpie to express their unique perspectives on a piece of cardboard.
