This dog was sleeping off the remainder of a general anesthetic after having been operated on in the the makeshift operating room that doubles up as the shelter’s office.

This very old dog was frail but the shelter is providing him a home in which he can live out his remaining time in dignity and surrounded by love. Apart from the humans who work at the shelter he has no shortage of love from a number of younger canine and feline friends.

"Smelly Cat"

This young feline gentleman had decided that he was the mayor of the entire shelter and spends his time enthusiastically greeting all human visitor’s to the shelter. He had recently had an operation in which his tail had to be removed. As a result of the operation he is also permanently incontinent which means that despite his extreme friendliness it is unlikely that any human will share their home with him. Fortunately, he is going to live his life out at the shelter where he will have no shortage of human, feline and canine friends.

Two new arrivals to the shelter. These kittens will spend some time getting acclimatized in their crate before being introduced to one of the larger feline communal shelters.

Resources are limited at the shelter and virtually everything is dual purposed. This blind cat calls the bathroom hut his home. Cats are incredibly adaptable animals and blind cats are one of the most remarkable demonstrations of this adaptability.
